Ryan Vaughn completed his M.A. in Professional Counseling 2011 at Liberty University. He became credentialed as a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), and a LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) 10/8/2015. His core belief is that the breakdown of the family precipitates dysfunction in the individual. Often individuals manifest dysfunctional behaviors to keep current dysfunctional homeostasis.
This LMHP (Licensed Mental Health Practitioner) works with families and individuals on identifying negative thought patterns that manifest in dysfunctional behaviors. Areas of specialties include working with MDD (Major Depression Disorder), DMDD (Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder), PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder), Conduct Disorder, and ADHD (Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). This LMHP attempts to work with the family on how they are being affected in the moment by presenting dysfunctions. This LMHP believes that everyone has a desire to become successful as they have defined success. This LMHP helps develop interventions and coping mechanisms to transition to this success and contentment. Modes of therapy often used include Solution Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy, CBT, and Family Systems Approach.
